With roots ranging
from the Italian Renaissance to Modern Expressionism, d'Arms' layered,
textural figures are worked exclusively in oil on canvas together
with various mixed media, ranging from hand-treated cloth and papers to
human hair. The human figure most interests her in its ability to
express and to communicate what we are.
